Another Snow Day!

We did it! 13 Valentines are ready to go for preschool. Only took 2 hours...ugh! Well, it's another snow day here in Leawood...which means that I don't have to feel bad that David and I didn't get to his Valentines yesterday...we are doing them today. I'll take pics as we create them this morning. I made a cute little insert for the cards...and I'm attaching it to this post so you can check it out!

Have I mentioned how much I love My Digital Studio recently? Snow Day Challenge!

Okay everyone - today is a snow day in our school district so I've got a little boy here with plenty of time on his hands. I think we will make his Valentines for school today. I'll post a picture of our progress. Wish us luck!

What do you think about this cute little button jar? Lifted the idea from our Occasions Mini Catalog and love it! What a great way to store our new buttons. I'm trying to decide if I want to do this project at our Stamp Camp on Saturday instead of another Valentine's Day 3-D project I had in mind. I'll post it tomorrow and then we'll see...

Valentine Matchbox

This next idea is a simple and cute one for class valentines (or office valentines). We will be making this at our Stamp Camp as well! I found dark chocolate Bliss candies to put inside (matchbox fits four nicely). And the wrapper is Poppy Parade in color - hooray!

Congrats to my downline, Laura, as she becomes a grandma for a second time today - and welcome baby Berkley George!!

On another note, I will be headed to La Bodega tonight for some much needed time with the MOPS Steering group - and I'm definitely already hungry having prepared dinner and cleaned up for the guys. Mmmmm...

Here is a cute card that we will be making for our Stamp Camp on January 15th as well...I'm also going to swap it for the demo shoebox swap at Shelley May's house on January 8th. What do you think of the insert? I thought it was fun to change things up a bit. I'll be papercrafting all afternoon after the Chiefs game ends. On tap: a Valentine's Day 3D item and a cute card to match, prepping David's Valentines for school so that he can assemble them and cutting the materials for all of the cards for the shoebox swap.

The best news is that some of our past In Colors are coming back as permanent members of the color collection. It's Been Too Long!

Hello Everyone! I'm BACK! I have made so many great things lately, that I will just have to show you a few of them on this post. My first creation is what I call "Glittered Tess". I used Stampin' Up! glitter to get her purse shiny and cut out a corner from my Sticky Elements to get the glitter to stick with no mess. Isn't she cute? The next picture is a card I borrowed from an AWESOME fellow demonstrator - Jeanine Bush - isn't it a cute little Valentine? We made it at our club meeting this month. The last photo is of my favorite plate stand...and our GREAT Love Bots Valentines for boys! It took me about fifteen minutes to create the cutest Valentine's in the world for my son to give out to his class. Let me know if you want to order some too!

Here are the October Club Projects that we did last week. Aren't they great?? Thanks to Loree for being a wonderful hostess. The Treat Boxes are only $3.95 for 5 - a great value. Also, we used the Cast-A-Spell Designer Series paper on the Halloween Scrapbook Page and cut it to make our own striped paper. The card we made featured the Delightful Decorations stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog and the fabulous ornament punch. Love that there was no cutting on this card!

My Goals

Hello Everyone! I thought I'd share my goals with you for the rest of 2009...and a little note.

I'm so excited to welcome the newest member of my team, Laura! Our demonstrator meetings have truly been wonderful. I feel like we are all making great new stamping friends and really learning from each other. I feel great when I can reward my downline with presents I bring back from Convention, awards for performance, and make and take projects during meetings.

I also appreciate the time and energy they put in to preparing their shoebox swap cards and getting ready for presenting topics. Having a connected downline has always been important to me - sharing the love of stamping is a big motivator. We are even connecting with our long-distance members well, sharing shoebox swaps and make and takes (and presents!).

My goal for the balance of 2009 is to build my team even further - adding two people to my group to promote to Manager! Let me know if you are curious about the business opportunity or are interested in joining our group for fun as a hobby demo. Both are welcome and appreciated...drop me a line...I think joining our team will be a decision you will be proud to have made!

My Stamp Room

Here are some photos of my Stampin' Room. You can see from the photos that I have two entrances - one is a double door that opens into my son's playroom and the other is a single door that opens to the left of the stairs leading to the basement. I purchased the big desk in the center from Ballard Designs and found the other desk and lateral file / bookcase at Pottery Barn. I also got the sawhorse bookcase from Ballard Designs. The large hutch in the room used to be in our kitchen in Torrance, CA, but I found that we didn't need one here in Leawood, so I appropriated it for my crafting. Yeah! White storage cubes are from a local craft store. What do you think?

The first project is a tin that I covered in Thouroughly Modern DSP and added a Circle Circus white embossed accent to. The second project is a super-sweet Thank You card using our embossing folder. The last project is a 12x12 scrapbook page that I also incorporated Thouroughly Modern DSP into, and used our Scallop Circles #2 Die with my Big Shot to create the title accent. Build-A-Bear Dies - First Creation

Well, ALL of my Stampin' stuff came in the mail today and David just HAD to be the first one to make anything with my new Build-A-Bear dies. I'm not sure why I was initially hesitant with purchasing these - David had a BLAST making little bear puppets - we ended up sticking them on lollipop sticks, because I couldn't find any craft sticks around. (Yes, terrible mommy, eh?). Get ready for AWESOME projects, because I'll be stamping all weekend.

Here is a card that I am taking to the Convention on Wednesday for swapping. I made 40 of them - let me tell you, that's a heck of a lot of coloring and glittering. But it was worth it, don't you think? I used the More the Merrier stamp set - Level III Hostess from the current catalog, Melon Mambo paper and polka-dot ribbon and paired it with Green Galore. I miss that color!!

Isn't this a super-cute card made with the Love Bug stamp set? I'm making 30 of these for my Convention swaps. Natalie has helped on them BIG TIME! Don't you just love that the little bugs fit inside the heart punch? I backed it in Chocolate Chip with the window cut-out from my Movers and Shapers Heart Window. I also used our scallop edge punch and 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grossgrain ribbon. And can you tell that I used the Polka Dot background from my Texture Plates? Love it!!

Hello Ladies! Here is the first of our four projects for club this month. Amira chose to do 3 cards and a 3-D item (instead of 1 card, 1 scrapbook page and a 3-D item), so here is the first card. It is a "Flower Pot" card that is made using the Big Shot Cherry Blossom Embosslit and a cute Button Bouquet button. The card portion pulls out, with the flowers attached on top. You are going to really LOVE this idea. Remember also that the date is different - June 24th - this month. Can't wait to show you the other projects, they are all done. But I'll have to wait...until tomorrow!

Sweet Little Mother's Day Card

This card is so sweet - but it requires sewing, so that may scare some of you. But it wasn't hard - I promise. In order to sew the stem, just draw a stem pattern (or stamp yourself a stem in Versamark) and little leaves, then using your paper piercer to poke little holes every 1/8" or so. Then, take your paper sewing needle (finer is better) and sew with about 3 strands of embroidery thread. Knot off at the end (or tape) and you're done. To make the little pot, just cut a small 1" square and trim an edge on a slight slant, flip it over to copy the exact same slant on the other side and trim. Add a 1/4" x 1-1/4" brim to the pot and you're done. What do you think? I made this project for my up-up-up-line's newsletter, too.

Big Shot Butterfly Card

Here is a simple card that I made with my AWESOME Stampin' Up! exclusive die and the Pocket Silhouetts stamp set. I used Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette card stock. I double-layered the butterfly and bent him in half and added a dimensional to create a 3-D look.

If you missed it, we had a GREAT time at our Scrapbooking / Stamp Night last night. I gave each of the gals a cute little gift and we had good snacks, too. Thanks for the Shrimp Dip, Naomi...and the guac was GREAT, Maureen. I'm still eating the sour Lifesaver gummies...that Zack dipped into the guacamole and enjoyed for a time last night. Yuck!

Hippo-ray! Girl Scouts Card

Here is a sweet little card that we made for a Girl Scouts meeting. Each girl made 2 cards - one they got to keep and the other was donated to a local nursing home. They turned out really pretty, too. We used the Pun Fun stamp set and made the background by using a stencil flower shape and "pouncing" Bashful Blue ink on top of it to create the flower image. Love it!

I think everyone is really going to like them...and it should be a blast! This card was fun - this little chick in his egg is so cute!

Birthday Card that can Morph into a Thank You Card!

I had a huge A-HA moment this morning when I made this card...and it happened on accident. As I was doing the final assembly for the card, I put everything down with adhesive, but forgot to adhere the saying with anything except the mini library clip. Then I realized - "Hey!" - this card could be used for anything and I could make different labels up that had different sentiments and then just choose the appropriate one when an occasion rolled around. Awesome, eh? Did anyone else think of this already?

Here is a photo folder that I found a template for in our most recent edition of Stampin' Success magazine. It was fun to recreate it with our Cheep Talk stamp set and Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper. The flap that you see in the middle opens up to reveal another two photos underneath - so there is room for 2 4x6 photos and one 3.5 x 6 photo (just trimmed o.5" off the 4x6 size). I had such a BLAST making this that I will send the materials to make this to the first 5 customers that place a web order of $50 or more. Offer expires March 31st, or when supplies run out! This Birthday card is so cute and simple - I found a Thank You card like this in our most recent edition of Stampin' Success Magazine (the mag that demos receive monthly) and just had to try it out for myself. It was so easy! I think we'll do it for club next month, just so everyone can give it a shot.

Photo Album - Monogram

I just love the lacing technique that is used to bind the pages of this photo album together. We will be making a photo album in club in April, but I'm not sure if it will be this one, or a different, more girly album. Here is a cute card that I started working on at Archiver's with Naomi and Robin and then finished working on at Julie's house later in the evening. It's simple but pretty. I'm not 100% sure about the rub-on since you can see the pattern a bit behind the white, but I think that it will do. Have I mentioned how much I love Urban Oasis?

Here is a card that I saw a similar one to on Splitcoast and changed a few things. I changed to Old Olive DSP, added Crystal Effects to the cherry on top, and added a cute pink taffeta ribbon to the card. I think it really works, don't you?

Help Wanted

Calling all of my Stampin' Up! stampers! I am looking for stampers to create sample cards for me to share on my blog. I will pay either cash or product for samples, and the cards don't even have to be physically sent to me - they can just be a relatively high-quality photo of your card. That's right - get paid for your ideas and keep your finished product. See the details below, and email me at stampersally@yahoo.com if you are interested.

Details:

- All products on cards or projects must be current Stampin' Up! product, except for decorative items (vase, cup, tin, etc.).

- Card cannot be CASE'd from another site, but could be from my downline's own blog or customer's personal blog. Must be your own creation. If any card photos are taken from another website without permission, you will not receive payment for your card.

- Accepted submissions will be paid $2.50 in product or $1.50 in cash (check via mail). Please let me know which one you choose upon submission. There will be a limit on the number of submissions per stamper, but I have not determined this yet. Potentially 4-7 per week, depending on the interest this receives. I retain the right to accept or deny any submissions for any reason, but will not publish your card if I do not pay you for it. If you submit a card, you grant me use of the card photo per the payment structure above.

- Photos must have an all-white background and be in keeping with my current photo "look" (let me know if you need tips on how to photo...its really simple and I'd be happy to share my technique with you)

- Submittors must either be in my downline or one of my active customers (placed an order(s) totalling $50 or more in the last 6 months). If you aren't a current member of my downline, you are welcome to join, or place a product order to qualify for this opportunity.

- Card must be a best-effort card - not necessarily complicated, but something that is cute and up-to-date. Simple is absolutely okay, but it needs to be polished and have a "wow" factor.

Loving Trendy Trees - Aren't You?

I saw a cute Trendy Trees card on Splitcoast Stampers and decided to copy it, but make it a little simpler and easier to do. I think it turned out pretty cute - and could definitely be used for a Stamp-A-Stack. I used the Raspberry Tart Paper and Basic Black paper, as well. And don't forget the ever-awesome paper piercer and Mat Pack. Who can live without it? Anyone who places a Mat Pack order from me this month will receive the supplies to make this cute card in the mail!

Glittering Flowers - Love them!

Aren't these sticky flowers from Sticky Cuts Sweet great! Paired with Good Morning Sunshine Paper and using our new Fine Supernova glitter. I can't tell you how great these sticky cuts are - they leave the best glittered image I have ever seen. This is my first time using them and I just can't get enough!
